Does your child really enjoy creative projects? Do you often feel his/her projects should be hung in a gallery? Your child might love participating in the Reflections National Arts Contest! |
It is time to celebrate our young Cedar Trails artists!
Reflections is a National PTSA arts contest open to all students. The primary focus of the contest is to celebrate creativity through positive recognition.
This year's theme is Accepting Imperfection.
Entries must be submitted at the front office by Friday, October 25th.
Student participants will be recognized at school celebration later this year and at a district celebration in January.
Please fill out and print the entry form for your students art project.
Submissions can be dropped off at the Cedar Trails office starting October 7th and will be accepted through Friday, October 25th. There will be a marked box in the main office to place your art projects.
If your student has created a visual art project such as a picture or painting, please drop off the physical object in the marked box in the office. If your student has created digital art such as a video or dance, please record the presentation and put it on a flash drive. The flash drive and entry form should be together in an envelope then placed in the marked box.
Judging will be based on:
Judges strongly consider the interpretation of the Reflections theme during the evaluation process. It is suggested that students give their submissions a title that stands out and describes how the piece relates to the student’s personal interpretation of the theme. The following guiding questions can be useful when developing a title and artist statement:
Cedar Trails will send one submission from every category and then additional projects based on judging. Up to 12 total entries may be submitted at the district level.
Please make sure to read the guidelines for each category carefully. Submissions cannot be accepted if they do not follow the guidelines.
